Today is the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. It is also the day of Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally.
According to the Associated Press, tens of thousands of people gathered today at the nation’s capital to hear Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and others speak. The ‘non-political’ rally had its share of protesters too, and Reverend Al Sharpton held a counter-rally nearby.
Your take on Glenn Beck and the ‘Restoring Honor’ rally has probably already been decided. You might take these quotes as hypocritical phrases from fear mongers, or you may take them as patriotic slogans to gather and motivate a nation.
