Troy Polamalu's Hair Insured for $1 Million Dollars
If you don’t know Troy Polamalu, you probably know his hair. Polamalu is the Pittsburgh Steelers superstar with the the three foot locks. He’s also the NFL player with an endorsement deal from Head and Shoulders, which is why he is now the NFL player who has his hair insured for $1 million dollars.
Yahoo News reports that the insurance was obtained through Lloyd’s of London, which brings up the question as to whether or not its a publicity stunt. Lloyd’s of London have become famous for the things they’ve insured.
Lloyd’s of London has insured Michael Flatley of River Dance’s legs, Cher’s legs, Kieth Richard’s fingers, and Celine Dion’s vocal chords.
Now they can ad Troy Polamalu and his hair to the list.

Polamalu missed 9 games last year due to injury, but his other body parts aren’t making him any money, (except all the money he makes from the NFL) so it’s only logical that he had his hair insured for $1 million dollars.
But it isn’t all for Head and Shoulders. Yahoo reports that Polamalu grows his hair long as a tribute to his Samoan heritage.
