“View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck claims she knows exactly why lesbians are coming out later on in life. There are just no available men out there, the Advocate is reporting.
Hasselbeck has this little theory that older men want to date younger women, which in turns leaves “older women with no one,” she said on the show.
“Being gay is not just holding hands and walking through the tulips,” Joy Behar commented back on the show. “I don’t think you suddenly wake up one day and say, ‘Oh, I wanted to do that.’ You wanted to do it, but you were just trapped in a system that has just said, ‘get married.’”
After her questionable comments towards Erin Andrews and her choices of clothing on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ Elisabeth Hasselbeck publicly- and privately- apologized to Andrews, according to PEOPLE.
During Wednesday’s show of ‘The View,’ Hasselbeck spoke about her regrets on her comments towards Andrew’s convicted stalker who filmed her unknowingly through a hotel room peephole. Hasselbeck made the comment that her stalker could have avoided this jail time if he only waited and just watched Andrews on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
Hasselbeck told the story about leaving work Tuesday and feeling horrible about what she said and talked about it with her 5-year-old daughter. “She’s so cute, she said to me, ‘Mommy, why don’t you just call Erin and tell her you’re sorry?’” she said. “So, thankfully, I listened to her – she’s a wise little girl – and I did. So, I’m really sorry, and I wanted to offer that publicly too, even though I did follow that advice.”
After Tuesday’s results show on the hit ABC ballroom dance competition, Andrews said that Hasselbeck’s remarks were “a slap in the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators. As a mother and a woman, I’m disappointed she went there.”
Hasselbeck’s comments were uncalled for. It’s basically saying that it was Andrew’s fault that the stalker filmed her. It’s NEVER the victim’s fault and people really need to stop making those types of comments.
For those unfamiliar, ‘The View’ is a show where five women all talk at the same time and can’t accept the opinions other people might have. Though, at times, this does make for interesting television.
This morning on the show, Whoopi Goldberg tried discussing the bad behavior of various elected officials during the health-care debate that aired on TV yesterday. Goldberg was even bleeped for quoting various politicians’ use of racist and homophobic terms.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck then decided to repeat the phrase “bribed, bullied and shut out” twice. This was her talking-point mantra when she tried to explain why the vote was so close at 219 to 212. For those who watch, this is when all hell broke loose.
The plagiarism case against Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her book “The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide” was dismissed this week by the Federal judge overseeing the case.
