On Thursday singer Mariah Carey, 41, finally addressed all those pregnancy rumors where she released a statement thanking all her fans for the “well wishes” but said she’s “very superstitious.”
“I think ‘superstitious’ might be the wrong word,” husband Nick Cannon told Us Magazine during Sunday’s Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day tennis event that took place in Flushing, New York.
“I think it’s more of a spiritual thing,” Cannon, 29, said. “Like trying to stay true and stay private for as long as you possibly can. She wants to keep as much privacy as she possibly can.”
Carey’s statement on Thursday also stated, “When the time is right, everyone will know.”
Cannon was still quiet about the baby news but he did say, “She’ll talk when she’s ready to talk.”
Carey is feeling “good” and working on her new album in Los Angeles, Calif.
Cannon also said he’d love to be a father. “I love kids. I’m all about kids. I’m a big kid!” He wouldn’t even mind having twins. “Yeah! Octomom. Nine kids at once,” he jokingly said. “Whatever happens, whatever life God blesses you with, you have to take it and appreciate it.”
