Obama Celebrates 49th Birthday, But a Quarter of Americans Still Doubt Birth Certificate

New Poll Shows that 27% of Americans Doubt Obama's Birth Certificate

president barack obama

President Obama has celebrated his Birthday on August 4th for the past 49 years. But that isn’t enough to convince 27% of Americans. A new poll done by CNN, shows that 11% of Americans believe that the president was definitely not born in The United States, while another 16% believe that he was probably born in another country.

According to the poll, only 42% of American’s believe that Obama was definitely born in The United States, while 29% say that he was probably born in The United States.

When the polling separated the population into political parties, it found that 41% of Republicans think Obama was definitely, or probably, born in another country.

It isn’t clear why people still believe these rumors. Birthers have been proven wrong time and time again, (here’s an article on Salon) but some people still want to believe that Obama is from another country.

Maybe it’s because high profile people keep breathing life into the birther myths.

Rush Limbaugh said this the other day.

“Tomorrow is Obama’s birthday, not that we’ve seen any proof of that… What? We haven’t seen any proof of that! They tell us August 4th is the birthday; we haven’t seen any proof of that! Sorry. It is what it is.”

Yes, it is what it is. And today is President Obama’s birthday.

Bob Etheridge: The Latest Violent, Angry Democrat [Videos]

_bob_etheridge

Etheridge Incident Not The First Time That Dems Get Physical

There is a lot of talk about violent Tea Party members and how right wing talk radio is inciting violence among its followers. The video evidence of physical assaults by liberal Democrats on conservative activists is growing to a trend. Congressman Bob Etheridge of North Carolina physically assaulted a man who peacefully asked him if he supported the Obama agenda. He has since apologized. Indyposted reported on the incident. His apology is reported as follows in the Washington Post

“I have seen the video posted on several blogs,” says Etheridge. “I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction, and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse.”

Sadly, Etheridge is not alone in physically lashing out at Republicans and conservatives.
Nathan Tabor and his wife were physically assaulted by an anti Republican “activist” who took Obama’s “Get in their face” recommendation a step further. In South Florida, leftists in favor of immigration amnesty threw down their picket signs and picked up their hands to beat tea Party demonstrators.

An African American tea Party supporter was beaten by opponents who questioned his right to inhabit the right of the political spectrum .

Can this violent trend be blamed on right wing talk radio? When Allee Bautsch, a Republican fund raiser and her boyfriend were beaten in New Orleans back in April, her boyfriend had his jaw broken and suffered a concussion. She suffered multiple leg fractures. How much more violent do we need to get? Does someone need to get killed?

These attacks are moved off of the front page as quickly as possible, if indeed they ever make it there at all. Is this thuggery part of a political strategy? It must be exposed and condemned as loudly as violence is from the right against the left.

The direction of our country should be decided by spirited debate and not by violence. Everyone should be able to weigh in on the pressing questions facing our nation. No one has the right to stop anyone from doing so through violence.

Woody Allen Wishes Obama Could Be Dictator

woody_soon_yi

Many years ago, Woody Allen was a funny man. Then he decided that comedy was beneath his dignity. Perhaps his latest comments on President Obama were an awkward attempt at comedy. The Los Angeles Times reports as follows Woody Allen’s latest comments on President Obama.

‘The one-time-father-now-husband-of-his-daughter tells the Spanish-language magazine La Vanguardia that the United States’ Democratic Smoker-in-Chief could accomplish a whole lot more from his White House if he didn’t have so many disorderly, annoying people objecting, distracting and criticizing him all the time.

Such social messiness has been known to occur in functioning democracies, even cinematic ones, although less often on celebrity-strewn movie sets under the direction of a dictatorial director.

“It would be good…if (Obama) could be dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly,” Allen is quoted as saying.”

Allen dug himself further in the hole by expressing the wish that Republicans would just “get out of his way and stop trying to hurt him.” (Obama).

Despite reading this story in the LA Times, I refuse to believe it. I think that Woody Allen has gone underground as an agent provocateur with the assignment of making the Democrats look like total idiots. Given Allen’s lack of any recent box office success, I think that this is probably the only way he can earn money these days.

Maybe Woody Allen really means what he said. His words remind me of a saying “When the people lose faith in the regime, it is time for the regime to dissolve the people and elect another.”

Bertolt Brecht wrote the following about the worker’s revolt of June 17, 1953 against the East German communist regime.

“After the uprising of the 17th June
The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee
Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government
And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier
In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?”

It is clear that Woody Allen belongs to another age. His words put him on the side of history that has been completely discredited. His candor in expressing a longing for dictatorship is a sentiment of which the American people should be aware. I doubt he is alone in his sentiments. Just as children repeat what they hear at home, fools sometimes repeat what they heard at a cocktail party.  If there was ever any doubt about the contempt for the American people among its cultural elite, that doubt has been removed. Thanks Woody.

Mainstream Tea Party More Popular Than Obama

teaparty1984

Bad news for the the Democrats and their traditional allies in the liberal news media (i.e., the “Democrat-media complex”, a term coined by Internet impresario Andrew Breitbart, who help launch the Huffington Post). Despite the efforts to demonize those everyday, concerned citizens in the Tea Party movement by playing up false allegations or focusing on kooks or fringe elements, voters are gravitating more toward the Tea Party than Obama.

According to Rasmussen, which is one of the more accurate national polling organizations, 48 percent of voters say the average Tea Party member is closer to their views than those advocated by the president (44 percent). And among independent voters surveyed, 50 percent find common ground with the Tea Party (while 38 percent sided with the president).

Separately, the respected Gallup poll, which tends liberal, found that Tea Party members–while obviously economically conservative–are generally representative of the American public. This despite the unfair caricatures of the movement as portrayed in the media. That is, in terms of factors such as age, educational background, employment status, and race, Tea Partiers are mainstream Americans who are exercising their First Amendment constitutional rights of freedom of speech and to peacefully assemble.

A separate survey by the Winston Group, which is a Republican-leaning firm, poll data found that four in ten of Tea Party members said they were either Independents or Democrats.

It would seem that continued bashing of the Tea Party movement by Democrat politicians and their biased media apologists will likely result in more lost market share for the president and his party, especially in the run-up to the November Congressional elections.

Republican National Committee Spends $1,946 at Sex-Themed Club

Michael Steele

The Republican National Committee said today that they want their money back for billed meals at a sex-themed club in Hollywood last month. They’re calling it an “unathorized event” and “inappropriate expenditure,” and they don’t know the details of how the money was spent. What is clear is that donor-vendor Erik Brown and other Republicans spent a reported $1,946 at Voyeur West Hollywood, which features topless dancers and waitresses in bondage outfits, and those meals were reimbursed by the RNC earlier this year.

Since November, reports show that the RNC has spent around $19,000 with Brown’s company, Dynamic Marketing Inc, for prining and mailing services involving various campaigns. He has, in return, donated several thousand dollars to the RNC.

Conservative feminist group Concerned Women for America wants to know more. The group’s president, Penny Nance, released a statement today demanding details about the reimbursement. She wants to know why it was approved in the first place and if “this kind of thing has been approved in the past.”

This isn’t the first time the RNC has been questioned about potentially inappropriate expenditures. Although a spokeperson has confirmed that chairman Michael Steele was not involved in this particular meal approval, the committe reported spending over $13,000 at Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City and over $18,000 at Tiny Jewel Box for “office supplies,” which were likely gifts for generous donors. Many officials have been complaining about this kind of spending in a midterm election year, wishing instead that the money would go toward House and Senate races this fall.

Steele also recently spent over $18,000 to dedecorate his office and scheduled this year’s winter meeting in Hawaii, even though it usually takes place in Washington.

New GOP Poll Shows Scary Results

President Obama is a socialist, a racist, and could possibly be the antichrist. That is what is being shown in the latest  GOP poll. The Harris poll was taken during the peak of the health care debate, and surveyed over 2,000 people. Here are some scary statistics from the new GOP poll.

The Harris poll says that two thirds of Republicans (40% of Americans) believe that President Obama is a socialist. 57% (32% overall) believe that he is a Muslim, and 45% (25% overall) believe that he was not born in this country.

The scariest statistic though, is that 24% of Republicans believe that Obama is the antichrist.

I’m not sure how accurate these numbers represent the Republican party, but one things for sure, the Republicans are not happy with  President Obama signing the Health Care bill into law today.

After Health Care Passes, GOP Makes New Goal, Fire Nancy Pelosi

The republicans may not have been able to stop the health care bill from passing, but with a little help, they could successfully achieve their next goal, to fire Nancy Pelosi.

The madam speaker played a vital part in getting the health care bill passed, and did so without any support from the  Republicans. Not one Republican voted for health care, and 34 Democrats voted against it.

Now, the GOP is trying to remove Pelosi from her seat. How are they going to do this? By taking 40 chairs from the Democrats in November.

The GOP website now directs to www.firenancypelosi.com, where people are encouraged to donate to, and support the cause of ridding the House of Nancy Pelosi.

The website has a goal of raising a little over 400,000 dollars inn the next 40 hours. It sounds like a lofty goal, but as of 8 o’clock this morning, they had already raised $200,000.
