Windows 7 Release Candidate Ready By April?

windows-7-release-candidate

Microsoft appears to be moving rather quickly when it comes to a Windows 7 Release Candidate. According to company inside sources a final release candidate should be arriving for the public and testers starting on April 10th, with a full version arriving only 8 months from the time of the original release.

Since word of Windows 7 first arrived Microsoft officials have been promising a faster development schedule than had previously been used on past versions of their Windows Operating System. Under the current schedule Windows 7 in its final version will hit shelves before the end of 2009.

Many reports are stating that Microsoft is hoping for a July completion, just in time to load PC’s for the next holiday season, hopefully generating sales for the company after watching stock prices and forecasts shrink over the last several years. [via Electronista]
